The J.S.M.F. prize in Information Technology will be awarded according the following rules:
  1. On behalf of the board of the J.S.M.F. association,the faculty of the department of computer science, under the coordination of Professor P. VERBAETEN, will select each year a deserving prize winner among the graduate students and/or researchers of the department.
  2. Each year the prize constitutes of a brass plaque with the prizewinner's name and 2.000 EURO.
  3. The work submitted for this prize should be a thesis submitted to obtain the degree of master Computerwetenschappen, master Informatica. It should include a summary, for a non-academic audience and in English language, that highlights the importance of the work.
  4. The contributions will be evaluated on the basis of academic work on a graduate level with a scientific value above average and representing non-orthodox thinking with creative values.
  5. The prize-winner will be selected for his/her open minded personality and interest in practical applications of the research performed.
  6. All problems concerning the reward are resolved by the board of the association.
  7. The prize will be granted at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven on the first Saturday of October
